About Lesson

Objective:

Now that we have considered how YHVH is one, let us now consider how we can be one in YHVH.

Beads:

These passages are meant to consider the phrase associated with the triangle: “That I too may be one in the Unity of the Divine Family.”

Passages to Ponder

John 17:21-26

21. That they all may be one, as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us, that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them, that they may be one, even as we are one,

23. I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that thou hast sent me and hast loved them as thou hast loved me.

24. Father, I will that they, also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me; for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

25. O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee; but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.

26. And I have declared unto them thy name and will declare it, that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

The Testimony of St John 10:33
(the same passage as above, translated by Denver Snuffer)

33. I pray not only for these followers, but also for all believers who learn our words from them. I ask that all followers and believers may be united as one, as you, Father, are in me, and I am in you, that they also may be united as one in us. By them becoming one, the world will have reason to believe that you sent me.

And the light which you gave to me I have given to them. This allows them to become united as one, even as we are one: my light in them, and your light in me.

The light will lead them to be made perfect in one. That light I have given to them is evidence to the world that you have sent me. I have loved them, as you have loved me.

Father, I ask that those whom you have given to me may also ascend to live where I am ascending, for this journey was established before the foundation of creation.

O righteous Father, this fallen world does not know you, but I have declared that you have sent me to minister here.

I have declared your message here and will finish the course. May the love you have for me be shown through the example of my love for them, and they may be saved through my sacrifice.

Questions of Knowledge (What it says at the surface)

  • Without considering the meaning (yet) what does it say literally:
    • Is Christ one IN the Father?
    • Or is the Father one IN Christ?
    • Is Christ to be IN us?
    • Or are we to be IN Christ?

Questions of Wisdom (What it means below the surface)

  • Is the Unity of Ha’Elohim the same thing as the Unity of the Father and the Son? Or Something else? In other words, when Jesus says “May they be One in Us”, is he saying something along the lines of “May these whom have chosen to follow the Path that I have walked join Us in the Unity of Ha’Elohim”? If not, what do you take it to mean?

Questions of Understanding (Likening it to Ourselves)

  • In what ways can you be one in Christ?
  • In what ways can Christ be in you?
  • Is being one in Christ the same thing as being one in the Unity of Ha’Elohim?

Questions of Mystery (What deeper meaning can be harvested)

  • If Ha’Elohim are the Oneness of Knowledge, Wisdom, Mercy, and Justice, even the Crown, what does it mean for you to be one in those things?
  • How might that be done?
  • Is there any merit to trying to first be one with each of those attributes by itself?  Or is it possible to separate them?
