About Course

Taken from the 1835 Doctrine & Covenants p. 5-74, this is the “Doctrine” portion of the original Doctrine & Covenants.  These Lectures on Faith were taught in the School of the Prophets at that time.

The first School of the Prophets was established in 1833 by Joseph Smith in a second-floor room of the Newel K. Whitney store in Kirtland, Ohio. The school was a place for men in the Church of Christ to learn about spiritual and secular matters, and to prepare for missionary work. The school ended in 1837.
