Organize Yourself

Prepare Every Needful Thing

The purpose for “Day 1” of this workshop is to make sure you have the items you will be using for the rest of the course, and that you have them in a “ready to use” condition.

Evening:

Find your patriarchal blessing, in electronic form.  (if you don’t have an electronic form, you may have to type it in by hand).

Find colorful pens you can use to write all over your blessing as you are doing the exercises in this workshop.

Find a notebook or journal where you can write down your thoughts.

Morning:

In the electronic copy of your blessing, break it into numbered “verses.”  This will make it easier to reference specific verses in your journal as you talk about things in your blessing. 

Reformat the text so that it has room for side-notes.  Perhaps double-spaced lines, or maybe a really really wide margin on one side.

Once you like the way it looks, print off a few copies to write all over with your colorful pens as you do the exercises in the workshop.

At the End of Day One:

You should have a few copies of your blessing printed out.  You should have your patriarchal blessing electronically available so you can print more copies if needed.

You should have some colorful pens to make it more memorable as you make notes.

You should have a notebook or journal you will use to write in over the course of the workshop.
