Timelines

All things, Past, Present and Future

The purpose for “Day 5” is to consider your blessing from the perspective of time.  If it describes your story, where are you at in the story?  What is yet to come?  What has already unfolded?  Are there things that have already happened, but you feel are still “in play”?

Isaiah wrote verses that contained insight into the past, present and future, all in one passage.  The only way to understand what it was saying about today is to recognize how it was related to the past, and what was still to come.   Your blessing might be similar, and considering each verse asking yourself if it is past, present, future, or some combination might make it more meaningful to you.

Evening:

Grab some colorful pens, and let’s give each color a meaning.  Divide your blessing into things that are “pre earth” life, “earth life” and the “after life.”  Are there things that might apply to more than one of these?  If so, mark it up, make some notes.

You might further divide things into “already happened” “is happening now” and “is future stuff”.  Mark what you find.  If you have “reasons” you believe what you feel it is referring to, put your notes there with your markup.

Morning:

Read through your notes, and ponder on them.   Write a journal entry (maybe even draw a timeline in your journal entry) describing what you think about the sequence of events mentioned in your blessing.  

At the End of Day 5:

You should feel aware of where you are in life, and how well you “fit” the story that you have been given to help plot your course as you navigate life.
