Engage the Spirit through Contemplation
46:2-26 Introduces the the concept of the birth of the soul, and it introduces the idea of the Kingdom of YHVH. This whole passage is rich with symbolism to contemplate. I invite you to spend some time on both of those ideas, and whatever else you find inviting as you review this passage.
Engage the Group through Discussion
When you meet together as a group to discuss the content of these chapters, here are some ideas to help get the discussion going:
- What is going on when Jacob wrestles Ben Ahmen?
- The burial of Rebekah’s handmaid Deborah is quite the symbolic tribute. What are your thoughts on all of that? Why dont we know more about Deborah?
